In Pittsburgh's early days the Strip District was used mainly for industrial businesses due to its ideal location along the Allegheny River. Today the area, which is located northeast of the downtown, has been cleaned up and holds a number of businesses, historic sites and cultural facilities. The Strip's boundaries extend north to the Allegheny River, south to Grant's Hill and east to west from 11th Street to 33rd Street.

Golden Triangle
Also known as the Central Business District, Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle is located near the confluence of Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, giving the area a triangular shape. Inside a mixture of office towers, parks, shops, hotels, historic buildings, theaters and restaurants makes the Golden Triangle a popular destination of residents and visitors alike.

Pittsburgh's South Side District is a 15-block section known for its Victorian architectures, main street ambiance, unique shops and many sights. Visitors can explore the area, which runs east to west along Carson Street, from South 11th Street to South 25th Street. Run up 5,000 steps to the top of South Side Slopes, take a jog along the river, enjoy live music, drinks and food, visit the many art galleries, go shopping or indulge in the multitude of other activities found in th South Side.

Oakland is considered on of Pittsburgh's most diverse neighborhoods, containing the University of Pittsburgh, Schenley Park, Carnegie Museums, Phipps Conservatory, Heinz Memorial Chapel, shopping and dining areas and many other sights. Key roads used to explore Oakland include Boulevard of Allies, Forbes Avenue and Fifth Avenue.

Located in downtown Pittsburgh, the Cultural District holds a myriad of live entertainment venues, historical buildings, dining areas, numerous shops, public parks and much more. Covering 14-square blocks, it encompasses the Byham Theater, Heinz Hall, Allegheny River Park and Benedum Center, to name a few. The Cultural District is bordered by the Allegheny River to the west, Cherry Way to the east, 4th Avenue to the south and the David L. Lawrence Center in the north.
