Located in Riverview Park and eight miles from the University of Pittsburgh. The observatory was built in 1859. Featured telescopes are a 30-inch Thaw Refractor, 30-inch Keller Memorial Reflector and a 13-inch Fitz-Clark Refractor. Tours are available from April through to October.

Designed for people of all ages. The OMNIMAX Theater is a world-class interactive planetarium. More than 250 hands-on exhibits are available. Memberships can be purchased. The planetarium first opened in October of 1939.
