Byham Theater was originally built in 1903 and was called the Gayety Theater. As one of America's premier entertainment venues it played host to stars like Helen Hayes and Ethel Barymore. From the 1930s until 1999 it was know as the Fulton and was used as a movie house. Many of its original fixtures, such as the mosaic ceiling and copper cherubs, can still be seen from its location in Pittsburgh's Cultural District.

Restored by H.J. Heinz at the cost of $43 million, Benedum Center for Performing Arts reflects its early appearance as the Stanley Theater from 1927. Up to 3,886 people can be seated inside the building, which today is still used for plays and concerts. Inside are more than 90 crystal chandeliers, 18-foot high mirrors in the lobby, 1,500 ft (457 m) of brass railings and many impressive carvings and ornamental decorations.

The theatre features 650 seats and offers a great arrangement. In 1974, the theatre's facility. O'Reilly Theater, reopened after renovations. Performances include Shakespeare and other classics. Educational programs are offered to many age groups from the Public Theatre.

Opened in 1999, Pittsburgh's O'Reilly Theater is one of the newest stage venues in the city. Located on the site that the former Lyceum Theater stood before it was destroyed after the 1936 St. Patrick's Day flood, the O'Reilly provides the downtown district with a state-of-the-art facility to host music, theater and other performances. Up to 650 people can be seated inside the building.

The ballet season begins in October and runs through to May. Ballet education is offered in a community program. Volunteers are always welcome to help. The company is known for being one of the top ballet companies in the United States.

Found on the University of Pittsburgh campus, the Peterson Events Center hosts a number of events, from university basketball games to musical concerts. Inside the 430,000 square foot building are offices, athletic training facilities, basketball courts, seating for up to 12,500 people, concession stands, gift shops and much more. Guided tours are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and must be booked in advance.

Emerging from its racy past when it operated as an adult movie house, todays Harris Theater screens movies daily from its 200-seat facility. Nationally recognized as a historic building, the Harris is owned by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and is operated by Pittsburgh Filmmakers media arts center.

Heinz Hall opened in 1927 as Lowe's Penn Theatre and after a massive renovation reopened its doors in 1971 under its current name. Best-known as the home of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the theater hosts a number of other events, such as Broadway plays, concerts, plays and lectures. Up to 2,662 people can be seated in Heinz Hall, which is located in Pittsburgh's Cultural District.
