Great Allegheny Passage Connecting Pittsburgh, PA, to Cumberland, MD, the Great Allegheny Passage runs 150 mi (240 km) and is open for biking, hiking and horseback riding. In the winter the trail welcomes cross-country skiers and snowshoers. The trail follows the Allegheny River in many parts, offering scenic and historic views and frequently winds through communities in Southwest Pennsylvania, permitting access to their amenities. |

North Country National Scenic Trail North Country National Scenic Trail runs through Pennsyvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota, prviding outdoor enthusiasts with roughly 4,600 mi (7,400 km) of pathway linking, including 1,700 mi (2,700 km) of off-road accessible trails. Most people use the trail segments for day trips, but few attempt to do the trail all at once. |
